No-Meat Dish: Saucy Tofu n’ Mushroom

In time for Lent, I have here a home-cooked meal that is very much applicable during this season. I know most of us Catholics observe the ‘No-Meat’ diet during designated days of Holy Week. Some strictly follow this diet by not eating any meat during Fridays throughout the season.  So in order not to lose your cravings for delicious food, here is a delicious no-meat meal for you my dear readers.SAM_7949

SAUCY TOFU ‘n MUSHROOM

4 tofu block

1 small can of sliced mushroom

½  pack of mushroom gravy

1 medium-sized garlic

1 big red onion / white onion

¼ cup soy sauce

1 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of sugar

½ cup water

1 pinch of Black pepper

It is very simple. Just sauté chopped garlic in a pan. Then add the mushroom. Cook until golden brown. Next add the already fried sliced tofu. Add ¼ cup of soy sauce, salt and black pepper. Dilute ½ pack of mushroom gravy into 1 cup of tap water. Pour the mushroom gravy mix. Then add the sliced onion. Add sugar and seasoning to taste. Boil for 5 minutes. You can also add bell pepper. Then serve.

As simple as that, now you have a ‘No-Meat’ dish. And for those who are taking extra consciousness on their health, this can be a good meal without depriving yourself from eating delicious food. Try this at home. Have a nice day always my dear readers!
